Age: 27
Base: Sheffield
Occupation: Professional Route Setter Years Climbing: 15
Present Climbing focus: To continually seek improvements in my personal climbing, route setting & coaching interests.
Future Climbing focus: To continue enjoying the journey of reaching new personal levels in climbing, through all the disciplines of climbing. (Sport,Bouldering,Trad,Winter etc.)
Favourite Climbing Area: Malham Cove – Yorkshire dales (so many good climbing memories).
Most significant climbing experience to date: So many could make this list.
At home: my 2009/2010 training and preparation culminating in my ascent of Mecca 8b+ at Raventor – in the harshest conditions. Neither myself nor my good friend Paul thought I’d do it that day!
Away from home: Climbing and living in Cataluña in North East Spain. The people and the climbing had an impact on me that I will always remember.
Most significant climbing achievements to date: Unjustified 8c – Malham Cove Mecca 8b+ - Raventor Predator 8b Malham Cove Overcoming the personal nemisis of Gritstone bouldering in the Peak district. I now really enjoy this style of climbing - but talk about a struggle for me!
Other activities/chill out time: I’m a keen surfer and strive for improvement almost as much as I do in my climbing, when I get chance. I enjoy keeping fit through fell running and road biking. I have an unhealthy addiction to watching films. |
